Viber Replaces MongoDB with Couchbase for High Scalability

Couchbase CEO Bob Wiederhold will make the announcement at the annual Mobile Developer Conference, the largest mobile developer conference in China, to be held in Beijing on November 13 – 14, 2013.

The announcement of the mobile strategy in China comes less than three months after Couchbase reported 400 percent growth and an additional $25 million in funding to drive product innovation and international expansion.

The Couchbase JSON Anywhere strategy is targeted at mobile application developers who want to create highly responsive, data-centric applications that are always available regardless of network connectivity. JSON Anywhere means: JSON on the device, JSON on the wire, and JSON in the cloud.
