DOCOMO Chooses Couchbase NoSQL Technology

Mountain View, Calif. – October 18, 2011 –Couchbase, the leading NoSQL database company, today announced a strategic customer relationship with DOCOMO Innovations, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “DOCOMO”), a U.S.-based arm of parent company NTT DOCOMO, Inc., in which the company will develop and deploy mobile services using Couchbase’s NoSQL database software. • Couchbase has executed a multi-year licensing and services agreement with DOCOMO encompassing the entire Couchbase NoSQL database product family.
• The breadth of Couchbase NoSQL solutions, with interoperable database offerings spanning from mobile devices to desktops to the cloud, was a key consideration in DOCOMO’s selection process.
• Couchbase real-time data infrastructure provides capabilities essential for DOCOMO’s current mobile services offerings, while DOCOMO’s next-generation service offerings will leverage Couchbase’s unique mobile-to-cloud data synchronization, ensuring mobile device databases are bi-directionally and transparently synchronized whenever network connectivity is available.
