New Book “Couchbase On Kubernetes” Discusses How to Autonomously Run and Manage a Complex Distributed Database On Kubernetes

SEATTLE–December 13, 2018– KubeCon +CloudNativeCon North America, Booth S12 – Couchbase, creator of the world’s first Engagement Database, today announced the publication and immediate availability of Couchbase on Kubernetes: Autonomously Run and Manage a Complex Distributed Database on Kubernetes.

Authored by Couchbase Director of Product Management Anil Kumar, the book details how to autonomously run and manage Couchbase on Kubernetes to reduce complexity, human error and manual management of database services. As Kubernetes continues to gain momentum there are a number of roadblocks that can hinder progress, and Kumar’s book helps readers overcome obstacles including high operational costs, vendor lock-in and delayed time to market.

In addition, Don Chamberlin, co-inventor of SQL, recently published SQL++ For SQL Users: a Tutorial in collaboration with Couchbase. Earlier this year, Couchbase launched Couchbase N1QL for Analytics, the first commercial implementation of the SQL++ query language.

“SQL++ has been a decade in the making, and is essential to leverage semi-structured data for analytics,” said Chamberlin.”It addresses gaps in SQL’s ability to query JSON and maintains the syntax of SQL for ease of use.
