Payments and incentives
New opportunities are rewarded through competitive payments and incentives. A new opportunity can be a net new customer or a new project with an existing customer. To compensate those referral partners who cannot accept cash payments, we offer "Business development credits." These can be used to offset marketing or training expenses.
Reseller partners will be eligible for commission on customer renewals if they stay actively engaged in the account over the course of the business year. These commissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis and require approval from Couchbase Sales. Referral partners are not eligible for commission on renewals.
Couchbase Capella employs a usage-based credit model so customers only pay for what they use. To provide customers with flexibility, Couchbase Capella clusters are created using 1 of 3 available plans: Basic, Developer Pro or Enterprise. Please refer to the Couchbase Capella website pricing page for details on the different plans or the Couchbase Capella user console.
Credits are purchased for a specific plan and can only be used for clusters of the same plan. Pricing for each plan is outlined in the below table. Since cloud infrastructure costs are covered through the Couchbase Capella Credit SKU, resale discounts are only available for the Developer Pro & Enterprise Service plan SKUs.
