APPS THAT KEEP WORKING WHEN THE NETWORK DOESN’T
Couchbase Lite (카우치베이스 라이트)
Couchbase Lite embeds a full NoSQL database in your app. SQL++ queries, full-text and vector search, and built-in sync run on the device, so transactions keep processing when connectivity drops.

Built for mobile, edge, and everything between
One embedded database for the places business runs: stores, warehouses, vehicles, aircraft, and job sites.

Keep revenue moving when the network drops
Reads and writes run locally. Transactions keep processing. Sync reconciles when the connection returns.

One platform, cloud to edge to device
One document model and one query language replace a stitched stack of a cloud database, SQLite, custom sync, and search.

AI retrieval on the device
Vector search and RAG run on local data. Features work in dead zones and sensitive context stays on the device.

Ship across platforms with one SDK
Swift, Kotlin, Java, .NET, C, JavaScript, React Native, Flutter, and Ionic. No per-platform sync rewrite.
What is Couchbase Lite?
An embedded NoSQL database that puts a full data layer inside your app, with sync built in.
Couchbase Lite stores JSON documents inside the app. Reads and writes happen at memory speed, with no network round trip. The app keeps functioning when the connection drops, and the data layer handles persistence, indexing, and query locally.
Bidirectional replication to Capella App Services or Sync Gateway is configured, not coded. Version-vector conflict resolution uses hybrid logical clocks instead of raw device timestamps, so clock drift between devices doesn’t silently lose data. Seamless cross platform peer-to-peer sync.
One embedded engine covers key-value access, SQL++ queries over JSON, full-text search, and vector search for semantic retrieval. The app supplies the model. Couchbase supplies the data layer and the retrieval. No separate search service or hosted vector store to integrate.
Native SDKs for iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin/Java), Java, .NET, C and C++, and JavaScript. Community-supported SDKs cover React Native, Ionic, and Flutter. One data model, one query language, one replication protocol across them all.

건축
Device to cloud and back
Couchbase Lite is a fully-featured embedded database that sits on each device (whether it is mobile, IoT, or desktop), and can sync data bidirectionally. Document changes can be pulled from Couchbase Server through Sync Gateway (or the managed version, App Services) to the device and pushed back.
건축
Peer-to-peer replication
Devices sync directly to each other over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. iOS and Android support discovery of devices, adaptive and self-mesh network formation. Useful on vehicles, ships, kiosks, and field crews that cluster together but can’t rely on the public internet.

REPLACE FIVE SYSTEMS WITH ONE
Stop stitching the stack by hand
A typical mobile stack adds up: a cloud database, an API tier, SQLite on the device, a hand-written sync layer rebuilt per platform, and a separate search service. Couchbase Lite covers it in one embedded engine. Same document model and query language from cloud to device. Replication is configured infrastructure, not application code. Fewer vendors, fewer failure modes, fewer sync bugs to chase.
Where teams run Couchbase Lite in production
RETAIL
POS and store associate apps
Transactions keep processing when the store’s internet drops. Associate apps on the floor stay current with inventory and pricing. Tommy Hilfiger cut sample production by 80% with a digital showroom running on Couchbase.
FIELD OPERATIONS
Route sales, logistics, service
Field reps place orders, log visits, and update inventory offline. Changes reconcile automatically when the device reconnects. PepsiCo runs order-to-cash across 25,000 field users and 350,000 merchants on this pattern.
TRANSPORTATION
Aircraft, vehicles, ships
Crews work from the device whether or not they have a signal. Emirates runs eTechLog pre-flight on Couchbase Lite at 100% field availability, with crew devices syncing ship-to-shore when connectivity returns.
Couchbase Lite FAQ
Common questions about the embedded database and sync.
Couchbase Lite is an embedded NoSQL database for mobile, IoT, and web apps that stores data locally for always-on access, with built-in SQL, vector search, and data sync.
Yes. Couchbase Lite adds what SQLite lacks: built-in cloud sync, automatic conflict resolution, and on-device vector search – with no extra extensions or fees required.
Yes. Couchbase Lite has built-in on-device vector search, enabling semantic search and RAG features in mobile and IoT apps – even without an internet connection.
Couchbase Lite supports iOS, Android, Linux, .NET, cross-platform, embedded devices via C/C++ API, and web browsers via JavaScript, covering virtually every mobile and edge platform.
Couchbase Lite syncs automatically with Couchbase Server via Sync Gateway and supports peer-to-peer sync between devices, with built-in conflict resolution throughout.
