Couchbase Cloud on Microsoft Azure—Widen Your DBaaS Aperture

Today, I’m excited to announce that we have officially expanded our Couchbase Cloud offering to support Microsoft Azure! Our strategy is to provide a customer-friendly base de datos como servicio that supports multiple cloud providers so there is no vendor lock-in.

On Microsoft Azure, Couchbase Cloud supports the same capabilities as it does running in alternative clouds, using a common, easy to use, control plane. You can access all the power, flexibility, performance and utility of fully managed clusters of Couchbase Server. By leveraging Couchbase Cloud in your Azure account, all resources can be managed with the security and transparency you already enjoy.

Hybrid-cloud installations across ten Azure regions can now take advantage of Couchbase Cloud high availability clustering and powerful cross datacenter replication (XDCR) for migration and backups. No other popular JSON-based NoSQL database service available on Azure is more cost-effective than Couchbase Cloud.   

For those vendors who have made Microsoft technologies their corporate standard, Couchbase Cloud on Azure operates seamlessly within that stack, yet provides these organizations a high-performance, multi-cloud, multi-functional NoSQL solution that offers a higher degree of operational and costs transparency than is typical with competing databases-as-a-service.
