There is documentation on the couchbase website for mobile client user authentication through sync gateway.
However, can mobile client user authentication also be done with the community edition? I’m not looking for any additional role-based authorization, JUST basic run of the mill authentication (where I can only sync a user’s data to the mobile app [with a successful login of course]).

If user authentication can ONLY be done with the Enterprise Edition, what is my best option for cheaply developing on the Enterprise Edition? I tried this one time on Amazon and it ran me over $200/month on one server instance. I am not asking which hosting solution works best, but is there a cheap developers license I can use to develop my app?
