No route to host while trying to connect to sync gateway

Hello,

I have an instance of couchbase server and couchbase sync gateway deployed in a virtual machine on a pirvate network.

Only the port 4984 is open on the VM and i need to pass through a DMZ with a public ip,

So when i try to ping or telnet the public ip with the 4984 port i have always the same response “No route to host”.

Does anyone have an idea ? Should i ask the IT to open more port ? Only the 4984 is open because all the data will be pushed through the sync_gateway.

Sounds like a typical NAT/firewall issue — you’ll have to open a port to route from the public IP to your VM.
