App Dev with Docs, Schemas and Relationships

App Dev with Docs, Schemas and Relationships

See example JSON document schemas, learn data access techniques, and how to model object relationships to best take adavantage of Couchbase's low latency document access, as well as the powerful map reduce query functionality. The session will include code snippets in popular development languages.

Navigating the NoSQL Landscape

Navigating the NoSQL Landscape

In the era of cheap disk space, processing power and high bandwidth networks, the constraints that caused our industry to have a near exclusive focus on Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) have abated. The terminology surrounding NoSQL and BigData are confusing to IT professionals trying to select the right storage for the right problem. The talk will explore the technical reasons you might select one of these new databases, the types of databases available, their correct use and quintessential use cases for them. Also discussed will be the counter indications for them. This is a survey talk for management and developers who are new to NoSQL/BigData/Non-RDBMS.

Developing with Couchbase: Getting Started

Developing with Couchbase: Getting Started

Ready to get started with Couchbase? This session will show you what is necessary in the installation and deployment of Couchbase Server. It is hands on, so be prepared to set up Couchbase, learn about deployment, and then get familiar with the SDK for your language of choice. You will come away with information on what common deployments look like and understand how the system behaves in different scenarios such as failures.

Couchbase Server 2.0: Full Text Search Integration

Couchbase Server 2.0: Full Text Search Integration

In this talk we examine how you can integrate your Couchbase Server 2.0 cluster with an ElasticSearch Cluster to provide enhanced querying capabilities for your application. First, we look at how easy it is to set up the integration between the two clusters. Next, we look at how we can combine the capabilities of both systems, performing fast full text search in ElasticSearch then performing fast document lookup on the results by document ID in Couchbase Server. Finally we will review some real world examples and consider how they can be implemented using Couchbase and ElasticSearch.
