There are so many NoSQL choices right now. Couchbase Server not only scales-out, but gives you rich functionality and scaling options with Multi-Dimensional Scaling. Rich functionality in Couchbase provides key-value, query, and indexing to enable easier application development. YCSB is the de facto benchmark for NoSQL performance measurement. In this session, we’ll explain how we measured and tuned the system to win the benchmark. This session will also cover how to tune Couchbase Server for various YCSB workloads.
Couchbase is supported on a wide variety of orchestration frameworks for Docker containers, such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm. You might have wondered what the best practices are for containerizing Couchbase in these orchestration frameworks. This session covers how the Couchbase engineering team uses Swarm and Kubernetes, and shares the best practices for doing so.
N1QL extends the power of SQL to JSON, enabling full query capabilities on Couchbase Server and removes one of the final hurdles to migration from MySQL to the flexible, scalable Couchbase Server. But in order to migrate seamlessly from MySQL to Couchbase, it is imperative to know the language and implementation differences between MySQL and N1QL. This talk will discuss various aspects of how to approach migration including: document key design, data modeling, migration options, and the language. This session will also give attendees an understanding of the different steps involved in making the decision to migrate from MySQL to Couchbase via N1QL.
