Playing with Couchbase: NoSQL in the Context of Social Gaming Data

Playing with Couchbase: NoSQL in the Context of Social Gaming Data

Scalability is prime, and this is why we love how simply Couchbase allows us to achieve it; however, for real world use, there are some things which need to be understood and operating strategies to be planned to ensure availability and data integrity. This focuses on our story; how we decided to switch to Couchbase for the need of our products, how we did it, what went well and, sometimes, not so well with our approach. But most importantly, we discuss how we tackled specific issues in our approach in regards to availability by using better application design and monitoring strategies, and how in the end it helped us getting a better understanding of how to leverage the power of Couchbase.

App Development with Documents, Indexes and Queries

Couchbase's map reduce engine provides powerful reporting capalities. We'll see live examples of leaderboards, time-series data, and querying object relationships. We'll also talk about performance considerations when using views. We'll also see examples of geographic query capabities, both for map data, as well for other multi-dimensional queries.

Couchbase Server 2.0 in Production 24x365

A presentation and discussion on the various aspects of deploying, testing, operating and maintaining Couchbase in a clustered environment while serving the real-time requests of an interactive software application with very stringent uptime requirements. Topics to include deployment architectures and considerations, monitoring, scaling out, backup/restore and failure scenarios.
