Couchbase Lite 2.0<\/a>\u00a0is a powerful\u00a0NoSQL<\/a>\u00a0embedded data store for iOS, Android and .Net\u00a0Mobile Platforms<\/a>. Couchbase Lite provides\u00a0functionality such as database and document\u00a0CRUD<\/a>\u00a0operations, brings powerful\u00a0Query API<\/a>\u00a0with SQL-like semantics and Full-Text-Search\u00a0(FTS)<\/a>\u00a0capabilities.<\/p>\n

Couchbase Lite Extensibility<\/h3>\n

The Couchbase.Lite<\/a> and Couchbase.Lite.Enterprise<\/a> Nuget<\/a> packages provide a broad array of capabilities for easily creating, configuring, and manipulating the data within Couchbase Lite<\/strong> databases on the platforms that support the Couchbase Lite .NET SDK<\/a>. While these packages already contain a large amount of functionality out of the box, an enormous benefit of using Nuget packages is the potential for extensibility. The ability to extend existing functionality provides us, as a development community, with an avenue to create and maintain projects that supplement existing Couchbase Lite features.<\/p>\n

One example of an opportunity to extend Couchbase Lite is to add the ability to dynamically<\/em> convert objects to and from MutableDocument<\/code> objects. Currently, as seen below, each model object property name and value must be added manually to MutableDocument<\/code> objects through various type-specific methods.<\/p>\n

Introducing Couchbase.Lite.Mapping<\/h3>\n
As you can see, the code for converting an object into a MutableDocument<\/code> and back again is simple, but as every object must be mapped developers can find themselves writing many similar lines of code. So, it\u2019s with much excitement that Couchbase Labs<\/a> is introducing a new Nuget package<\/a> to help decrease the amount of code written to map model objects to and from MutableDocument<\/code> objects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
