Not too long ago I released a lengthy tutorial video on the topic of creating an API with Node.js and Couchbase that used N1QL<\/a> for querying. \u00a0However, that is only one of several ways to get the job done. \u00a0If you’re a Node.js developer that is familiar with MongoDB, you’ll recognize a tool called Mongoose that acts as an ODM for the data layer. \u00a0Couchbase also has an ODM tool, this time called Ottoman.<\/p>\n

Using an ODM makes it very easy to map your data layer to Node.js objects. \u00a0Ottoman handles all the querying and any relationships between documents along the way.<\/p>\n

Below is a video tutorial that accomplishes the same end goal as the N1QL video, but this time it uses Ottoman.<\/p>\n

I recommend watching both videos to get an understanding of the different ways you can use Couchbase with Node.js and to better determine which way is best for you.<\/p>\n
