As a sponsor of the DevIntersection 2022 conference in Las Vegas, Couchbase was able to showcase its NoSQL database solutions to the attendees. We had a booth in the expo hall and a speaking session where I discussed caching. Finally, the event was capped off with a very popular prize drawing.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the booth, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about Couchbase\u2019s key features, such as its familiar query language <\/span>SQL++<\/span><\/a>, flexible JSON data model, and the <\/span>Capella DBaaS<\/span><\/a>. Many attendees stopped by to speak with Couchbase\u2019s engineers and staff and to check out brief demos of <\/span>Couchbase Capella<\/span><\/a> in action.<\/span><\/p>\n

We brought some swag, including stickers and pens, but the most popular swag had to be the <\/span>Couchbase-branded Doohickey<\/span><\/a> and the bamboo-cased sticky note set.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the booth, Couchbase also participated in a speaking session. This session covered the basics of caching: reading, writing, eviction, and <\/span>distributed caching<\/span><\/a>. Attendees asked questions and were able to follow up with more discussion at the booth afterwards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Probably the most attractive thing about the Couchbase booth, beyond the idea of <\/span>SQL for JSON<\/span><\/a>, was the prize giveaway. A Lego Nintendo Entertainment System set.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyone had stories of playing the NES when they were kids. Over 350 people entered to win the set. Sadly, it\u2019s not a working NES and can\u2019t play cartridges, but it\u2019s still a fun prize just in time for the holidays. Congrats to the winner, Ethan M!<\/span><\/p>\n
