Hoje vamos analisar um dos culpados: os dados.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quando se trata de oferecer novas experi\u00eancias e servi\u00e7os digitais, a incapacidade de usar dados pode ser prejudicial.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">90% dos tomadores de decis\u00f5es digitais est\u00e3o tendo suas ambi\u00e7\u00f5es de usar dados para novos servi\u00e7os digitais frustradas, seja por falta de recursos, pela complexidade do uso de v\u00e1rias tecnologias ou pela depend\u00eancia da tecnologia de banco de dados legado. De fato, 41% dos entrevistados tiveram projetos digitais que fracassaram completamente em sua organiza\u00e7\u00e3o porque o banco de dados legado n\u00e3o era compat\u00edvel; 15% dos projetos fracassaram depois de um investimento significativo de tempo e recursos, enquanto 29% tiveram que reduzir o escopo de um projeto devido ao custo de fazer altera\u00e7\u00f5es na tecnologia legada e 14% tiveram que atrasar projetos de forma significativa e nunca relataram nenhum problema. A partir dessas estat\u00edsticas, os bancos de dados legados s\u00e3o a linha comum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Apontar o dedo para o banco de dados legado<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quase todas as empresas t\u00eam um banco de dados legado: baseado em uma tecnologia confi\u00e1vel e relacional da Oracle, IBM, Microsoft ou uma de v\u00e1rias outras, que se provou inestim\u00e1vel em tarefas como o processamento de transa\u00e7\u00f5es de forma r\u00e1pida, confi\u00e1vel e consistente, o que \u00e9 essencial para os neg\u00f3cios on-line. No entanto, as experi\u00eancias digitais que promovem o envolvimento do cliente imp\u00f5em novas demandas ao banco de dados, que a tecnologia legada nem sempre consegue atender. Essas novas experi\u00eancias precisam ser \u00e1geis - a empresa deve ser capaz de desenvolver novos aplicativos que usem os dados de maneiras diferentes quase que instantaneamente. Elas precisam ser confi\u00e1veis e estar sempre dispon\u00edveis, sem tempo de inatividade para manuten\u00e7\u00e3o ou qualquer outro motivo. Devem ser escalon\u00e1veis, ou seja, escalonar em grande escala para acomodar o sucesso de novos aplicativos, a sazonalidade ou outro aumento nas intera\u00e7\u00f5es. E devem ser capazes de garantir o desempenho, mesmo que os aplicativos interajam com os usu\u00e1rios finais usando dados cada vez mais complexos, interconectados e variados. Os bancos de dados legados simplesmente n\u00e3o est\u00e3o \u00e0 altura dessas tarefas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Isso n\u00e3o vai melhorar com o tempo: em um futuro muito pr\u00f3ximo, os bancos de dados ter\u00e3o demandas totalmente novas que, mais uma vez, as solu\u00e7\u00f5es legadas simplesmente n\u00e3o conseguir\u00e3o atender. Por exemplo, apenas 41% das organiza\u00e7\u00f5es afirmam que podem usar os dados em tempo real, ou seja, assim que eles s\u00e3o registrados. Em m\u00e9dia, os dados de clientes mais recentes que os bancos de dados das organiza\u00e7\u00f5es podem usar t\u00eam 28 horas. Pergunte a si mesmo se usaria algum fornecedor ou prestador de servi\u00e7os se ele levasse mais de um dia para reagir \u00e0s suas escolhas e, em seguida, pergunte se esses bancos de dados podem lidar com o fornecimento de uma experi\u00eancia de usu\u00e1rio que ocorre essencialmente em tempo real.
