H\u00e1 dez anos, isso talvez n\u00e3o representasse um problema, pois a maioria dos varejistas de tijolo e argamassa teria recebido bem as filas de clientes que sa\u00edam de suas lojas e iam para as ruas da High Street local. No entanto, como o tempo ficou mais frio e as noites come\u00e7aram a cair no ano passado, parece que cada vez mais consumidores preferiram n\u00e3o visitar as lojas locais e, em vez disso, pegaram o v\u00edrus do varejo on-line.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De fato, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos-retailperformance.com\/\">Desempenho do varejo da Ipsos<\/a> informou que menos compradores foram \u00e0s ruas no Boxing Day do que nos anos anteriores, com uma queda de 4,7% no que \u00e9 tradicionalmente um dos dias de compras mais movimentados do ano, com muitos experimentando grandes aumentos no dia de Natal on-line. Tradicionalmente uma tradi\u00e7\u00e3o americana, a ideia de fazer descontos em estoques no final de novembro, antecipando a corrida pr\u00e9-natalina, foi o ano em que esse fen\u00f4meno decolou no Reino Unido. O que talvez tenha sido surpreendente foi a extens\u00e3o em que alguns dos principais nomes do com\u00e9rcio eletr\u00f4nico foram pegos de surpresa pelo aumento repentino da demanda, com empresas como a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/business-30242124\">A John Lewis e a Argos est\u00e3o lutando para lidar com o aumento do tr\u00e1fego em seus sites<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mas ser\u00e1 que esses problemas podem ser evitados em uma \u00e9poca do ano em que os aumentos na demanda dos clientes s\u00e3o frequentes? A resposta \u00e9 um enf\u00e1tico \"sim\", e essa \u00e9 uma li\u00e7\u00e3o que os varejistas fariam bem em aprender quando analisarem seu desempenho na \u00e9poca mais movimentada do ano. O Natal de 2015 pode parecer muito distante, mas se n\u00e3o houver uma mudan\u00e7a fundamental na mentalidade antes disso, muitos varejistas eletr\u00f4nicos poder\u00e3o enfrentar os mesmos problemas no final do ano.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>O que est\u00e1 claro \u00e9 que muitas empresas t\u00eam sido culpadas de serem um pouco restritivas demais em seu pensamento. Isso significa que, se houver um aumento repentino no tr\u00e1fego que n\u00e3o tenha sido considerado, o site ficar\u00e1 inativo ou ter\u00e1 um desempenho ruim, o que resultar\u00e1 em perda de clientes e de receita.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Voltando ao exemplo anterior de um varejista de tijolo e argamassa, \u00e9 como restringir o n\u00famero de clientes que podem entrar fisicamente em sua loja em um determinado momento. Quando se leva em conta o fato de que os clientes de hoje est\u00e3o cada vez mais impacientes e n\u00e3o querem esperar, pedir que eles aguardem em uma fila \"do lado de fora\" da loja on-line n\u00e3o \u00e9 mais uma op\u00e7\u00e3o vi\u00e1vel. Em vez disso, os varejistas devem come\u00e7ar a pensar tridimensionalmente quando se trata de planejamento de recursos.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A resposta \u00e9 implementar uma infraestrutura capaz de lidar com a elasticidade da demanda e que possa ser ampliada ou reduzida para lidar com ela. Elas devem parar de pensar em seu espa\u00e7o de varejo on-line como um recurso finito que s\u00f3 pode permitir um determinado n\u00famero de pessoas a qualquer momento.
