Recentemente, foram disponibilizadas algumas novas vers\u00f5es do cliente Python do Couchbase. Ele apresenta uma nova API que \u00e9 mais f\u00e1cil de usar. Como o SDK agora \u00e9 baseado em libcouchbase<\/a>Al\u00e9m disso, ele \u00e9 muito mais r\u00e1pido. Agora tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 compat\u00edvel com o Python 3!<\/p>\n

Breve hist\u00f3rico<\/h2>\n

Foi necess\u00e1ria uma reescrita, pois o Python SDK tem um longo hist\u00f3rico. Ele se originou em um script Python Dustin Sallings<\/a>\u00a0que foi usado pela equipe de engenharia de qualidade do Couchbase para escrever seus testes. Havia muitos recursos excelentes, mas n\u00e3o era uma API coesa para um novo desenvolvedor.<\/p>\n

Posteriormente, ela foi levada adiante por Benjamin Young<\/a>\u00a0para o pr\u00f3ximo n\u00edvel para ser o cliente Python oficial do Couchbase. Ele ainda tinha o \u00f4nus de ser compat\u00edvel com vers\u00f5es anteriores e, portanto, n\u00e3o podia ser t\u00e3o f\u00e1cil de usar quanto muitos previam.<\/p>\n

Com a decis\u00e3o de reescrever e basear-se na libcouchbase na vers\u00e3o 0.9 usando o Cython<\/a>Tamb\u00e9m decidimos quebrar a API. Dessa forma, voc\u00ea obter\u00e1 o melhor desempenho, mas tamb\u00e9m uma boa API. Posteriormente, mudamos para a API Python C diretamente na vers\u00e3o 0.10.<\/p>\n
