Desde o in\u00edcio, o Draw Something cresceu para <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2012\/04\/04\/omgpops-draw-something-surpasses-50-million-downloads\/\">Mais de 50 milh\u00f5es de downloads<\/a> em poucas semanas (e ainda est\u00e1 fazendo cerca de dois milh\u00f5es de downloads por dia).  O n\u00famero de usu\u00e1rios ativos di\u00e1rios (DAU) \u00e9 de 15 milh\u00f5es, superando de longe o do jogo mais pr\u00f3ximo, o Words with Friends.  Dezenas de milh\u00f5es de jogos foram iniciados. Mais de<a href=\"https:\/\/gigaom.com\/2012\/03\/16\/dont-call-it-a-game-how-draw-something-hit-30-million-downloads\/\"> 3.000 desenhos s\u00e3o gerados a cada segundo, somando-se aos dois bilh\u00f5es de <\/a>que j\u00e1 foram criados e armazenados.<\/p>\n<p>E o crescimento n\u00e3o parou. A OMGPOP agora est\u00e1 de olho em<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hM8ZQtx1BsU\"> 100 milh\u00f5es de downloads<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Esse tipo de crescimento \u00e9 o sonho de todo desenvolvedor de aplicativos, mas se a escalabilidade n\u00e3o for planejada com anteced\u00eancia, ela pode se tornar o pior pesadelo do desenvolvedor. A maneira mais r\u00e1pida de acabar com um jogo em crescimento \u00e9 fazer com que os usu\u00e1rios esperem ou, pior ainda, dizer a eles para voltarem quando voc\u00ea puder lidar com a carga. Basta perguntar \u00e0 EA.<\/p>\n<p>Lan\u00e7ado quase ao mesmo tempo que o Draw Something, o Simpson's Tapped Out, da EA, tamb\u00e9m estava tendo uma enorme ado\u00e7\u00e3o. Com crescimento viral, ele atingiu #2 na Apple App Store no in\u00edcio de mar\u00e7o, antes de enfrentar problemas de escala.  Em poucos dias, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.games.com\/2012\/03\/03\/the-simpsons-tapped-out-error-outage\/\">o jogo foi retirado da App Store<\/a> apenas com os jogadores existentes continuando a jogar.  Algumas semanas depois, ele ainda n\u00e3o retornou.<\/p>\n<p>Felizmente, a OMGPOP planejou antecipadamente a escalabilidade, selecionando um <a href=\"https:\/\/www.couchbase.com\/blog\/pt\/why-nosql\/nosql-database\/\">Banco de dados NoSQL<\/a> como sua principal tecnologia de armazenamento de dados.
