At Couchbase Connect, in Santa Clara, last month we brought together our first Couchbase Developer Experts and Couchbase Community Champions.

We wanted to recognise those in the Couchbase community who had really mastered Couchbase (Server or Mobile, preferably both) and who had made contributions to the Couchbase community. So, we launched the programme and started looking for who we thought should join up.

Couchbase Developer Expert

Couchbase Developer Expert is similar to an MVP programme, in that we want to recognise the developers and ops people who have worked to gain a deep insight into working with Couchbase. There’ll only ever be a relatively small number of CDEs and you can be sure they’ve run complex Couchbase project in production.

Our first two CDEs are:

  • Dave Starling, CTO of SeenIt, London
  • Fujio Turner, NoSQL/Big Data Architect, Bay area

Couchbase Community Champions

The Couchbase Community Champions programme is open to anyone who has help make the Couchbase community a better place to be. That could be by contributing code, helping run a meet-up, answering questions on the forums and so on.

Our first CCCs are:

  • Paul Capestany, Bay area
  • Paul Mietz Egli, Bay area
  • Vlado Atanasov, Dublin

We’ll be writing more about each of our Couchbase Developer Experts and Couchbase Community Champions in the coming days.

Interested in becoming a Community Champion or know someone whom you consider an expert in Couchbase, find out more about what’s involved and how you can nominate someone in the community.
