A user posted the information below into our forums. I think it would be a good thing to add to our documentation.
http://www.couchbase.com/forums/thread/connect-problems-when-avast-antivirus-present Hello, I found a problem with Avast antivirus (www.avast.com). When web shield is active, the SDK can not connect to CouchBase server (connect hangs). Tested with: Java 1.1 SDK, CouchBase 1.8.1 and CouchBase 2.0 C 2.0 SDK, CouchBase 2.0 (connect to CouchBase 1.8.1 surprisingly works without any problems) Avast Internet Security 7.0.1474 The problem can be avoided by adding exception rules to Avast web shield (http://couchbaseserverhost:8091/*). Hope this info will be useful to all developers with the same problem. Regards Jiri Tulach |
