Description

Based on the discussion with Dev team we found out the CBbackup doesn't work with external IP's. The current documentation for CBbackup doesn't reflect this and hence we had some Forum posts asking for documentation.

I don't think this is cbbackup specific issue.

If you install couchbase with default ip address, you cannot use external hostname to access it because of node reference format as ns@ip instead of ns@hostname.

Maybe we just need to refer it to how to use hostname as node reference section.

Karen something like this?

When you install Couchbase using default ip address, please note that CBBackup may not use external hostname to access the server. This is because the node reference uses a ip address format (ex ns@ip) instead of a hostname format (ex ns@hostname). For more details please refer to "How To Use Hostname"
