This is actually an issue with libcouchbase. Additionally, it appears to only manifest itself when attempting to connect to localhost on an incorrect port number. I suspect this is due to IPv6.

The IO model is refactored in 0.0.12 and I was not able to reproduce the error with 0.0.12
