Hi~

I downloaded membase tar-ball from web site. and make this project. (to tell the true, I want to download binary for fedora, but there was no binary or I could not find that.)

Running membase, I can see web console of membase, but I can't use membase. In log page of web console, log show me the text "Port server moxi on node 'ns_1@127.0.0.1' exited with status 64. Restarting. Messages: 2011-01-31 15:49:32: (memcached.c.4767) can't run as root without the -u switch".

What is it?

I try run with -u switch, ($ ./start_shell.sh -u) but it is not work.

plz help me or give me some advise.

thx.

 Hi there!

Yes, it's been our practice to not run anything as root.  The '-u' switch actually requires another user name to be specified, like: '-u membase'

Let me know if that works out for you.

Thanks for your reply

Compiling on root, and running membase with -u switch with another user name. It did not work. I don't know why.

But, compiling on another user name, It works very well.

I did not know membase's practice not run as root.

Tanks again.
