Want to get started quickly on PHP/CentOS/Apache.
I don't care for "Enterprise Editions" of anything. Someone told me MemBase is a good database to work with for a quick NoSQL DB. Hope experts can help me here.
I run a high traffic site. Runs Postgresql with nginx + apache proxy solution. PG is now crumbling under pressure.
I know CentOS well. And Cpanel/WHM. The usual setup. It's a dedicated server.
Need to install membase (or another nosql db) quickly, then move my key/value data from PG (just one big table with 35 million rows), and hopefully change my main code to INSERT/DELETE/UPDATE records in MemBase instead of postgresql.
The server already uses memcached to take the load off the PG database for the most requested SELECTs. But memcached is not going to hold 35 million records. And if the memory is screwed, I lose everything in memcached. So it's not a real replacement. I understand MemBase is in fact a replacement for PG.
Is this correct? Or am I hoping too much from MemBase?
The website promises all of the above and an install in "5 minutes". But I couldn't find simple instructions to get it installed and running through simple PHP code (connect, query, display) anywhere.
Would appreciate any pointers.
