SyncPoint - a good fit?
Hi everyone, I was looking for some information about SyncPoint. I'm evaluating using it on a new project we are working on.
we would like to use Mobile-cloud sync. but require support for desktop software as well (a browser extension in which we save and use the same data)
how would I connect with SyncPoint via a desktop?
also, do you know when the official release of SyncPoint is supposed to be? how do I evaluate it?
Do you know of any other cloud-device sync solutions? so far I looked at Microsoft Sync Framework.
Take a look at Simperium and Apigee.
What features do you need that aren't offered by TouchDB itself? What mobile OS[s] are you looking at?
Simperium looks great,
I'm looking for something similar that I can host on my own infrastructure (or AWS)
I need support for C++/Javascript, Android, iPhone and maybe C#.
Syncpoint as a whole isn't ready to use yet; there's an iOS/Mac version available but it's not functionally complete.
TouchDB for iOS and Mac is ready, though; it's pretty close to 1.0. It might be sufficient for your needs if you can manage things like provisioning user databases yourselves.
On Mac OS you use TouchDB through the same API as on iOS.
