Super slow Rebalance

i'm running 3 VMs on a 10Gig network with couchbase 2.0 beta. I'm in the process of upgrading them to the new GA 2.0 couchbase using the online method.

I have 6 buckets and 4 views all the buckets are small except for one it has 1million docs.

in order to upgrade I kick one node out….rebalance…upgrade….bring it back in…. rebalance

then repeat the process for the other 2 nodes. however it's taking over an hour to do the rebalances. I figured this would be much faster especially on a 10gig network.

Can you also describe the configuration of you VMs (CPU, Memory,...)

Hi,

I also see slow rebalances in CB2 vs CB 1.8
I built cluster:
2 hosts
1 bucket

And initial rebalance (with 0 items) took... 7 minutes

Both hosts are in same DC, 1Gbps network, bucket is 1GB

Hosts:
Virtual hosts:
1vCPU
2GB ram

I was actually quite surprised than rebalance of empty thing takes 7 minutes... Is there a reason for that?

3 nodes at one physical machine, each node - 4GB RAM, 2 cores CPU, SSD disk.
Rebalancing with 0 items (that is mostly surprising) takes more than 5 minutes. Rebalancing with data takes much more time.
