Stopping membase service

I've installed 1.7.0 in Red hat linux box. I've been trying to stop the membase service to test data restore. I tried ./membase-server stop, but this does not stop the service. Is this the right command? Am I missing something here?

please try /etc/init.d/membase-server stop
