Hi, I installed Membase 1.6.5.4 on a few test machines and have had no problems. However I decided to install it on one of our servers and am unable to successfully telnet in and perform stats or get and set. The error I get is "Server_Error proxy write to downstream"

The machine is a windows 2003 64 bit server and I am attempting a single node install using membase buckets.

Other errors/strange happenings:

Cluster overview page the Buckets section has "Waiting for samples..." but never loads.

Monitor -> Data Buckets -> [Bucket name] shows alternating text "Difficulties communicating with the cluster; displaying cached information!" in red and No samples, Yet. in black.

I have created exceptions on windows firewall to allow ports 8091 4369 11211 11210 to run, and have restarted the service/deleted config files multiple times but still am not able to get it to work.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,

For Windows 2003, you'll likely need the microsoft vc redistributable (8.0.59193), downloadable from microsoft, pre-installed on that box before installing Membase.

http://www.couchbase.org/issues/browse/MB-4013

Recommend, too, you uninstall Membase (or if it's a VM, use a clean one) before trying it again.

Cheers,
Steve
