server hit the wrong bucket

It's not immediately clear looking at that why data would end up in the default bucket. One possibility is that the authentication is failing, but then no data should get to the server.

Can you turn up the log level? Does logging show anything?

Which version of the client are you using?

I have turned on the spymemcached log, here is what I saw in the log:

And in the admin console (bucket default) , I saw bunch of top keys which supposed in the bucket dev-sm20.

The membase version is 1.7.1.1.

I have created 2 test buckets on standard ports:
1. one with a SASL password, called local
2. second one doesn't have a SASL password, called testNopwd.

And I ran the following curl command:
curl -i "http://localhost:8091/pools/default/buckets" > local_out.txt

The result is that bucket local is not shown in the pool, but testNoI does. Is there something wrong with my membase configuration? Would anyone help?

Thank you for responding. The reason happened to be the mismatch of the version of membase client lib and the wrong version of the commons-codec. I am abel to access the buckets (on standard ports) now.

It still seems like a strange behavior. As was pointed out earlier it should not have ended in the default bucket. You want to file it as an issue especially if it's easily reproducible.
