 Hi Perry,

On first runs on a multi-core machine, I'm finding very low performance (approximately 1500-3000 transactions per second using Memcachetest).  I was wondering whether you might have some thoughts regarding obvious issues and settings that I might want to check regarding the low performance at this stage.

 Jon,

Happy to help, there is a pretty wide range of things to look at here:

What OS platforms are your clients and Membase servers running on?

How many nodes, how many clients?

Are you using a client-side Moxi process?

Is this in "the cloud", on vm's or on dedicated hardware?

How much memory per Membase node?  How many keys and what size keys are you accessing?

What's the ping latency between your clients and servers?

Once we get some higher level implementation details, we can dig into the lower-level statistics as well.

Perry
