Running membase server 1.7.0 on win server 2007 sp 2. Had a power failure this weekend and now membase won't start back up. I keep getting erlang error messages in the logs:

The MembaseServer service terminated with the following error:
The process terminated unexpectedly.

MembaseServer: Erlang machine seems to die continously, not restarted.

I searched the wiki and have seen some other posts about erlang issues/server not starting but I haven't seen any resolutions. Is there any known way to get membase running again when this issue is encountered?

Do you know whether the IP address of the server changed after the power failure/restart?

You can email a set of logs (C:\Program Files\Membase Server\bin\mbcollect_info ) to perry@couchbase.com and I will try to confirm the issue.

To recover, I would shut down the server, copy the DB files out of the way, uninstall/reinstall and then replace the DB files.

If you're going to have the IP address of this server changing, you may want to follow the instructions outlined here: http://www.couchbase.org/wiki/display/membase/Using+Membase+in+the+Cloud

I actually found this advice in a thread:

the workaround is to remove all files under /opt/membase/var/lib/membase/mnesia/*.* .
on windows platform these files are located in program_files\membase\server\...

I tried this and it solved the problem. I think the servers have static ips but I'll make sure we aren't using dhcp (90% sure we aren't).

Ahh yes, the "other" possible issue. I believe this particular one has been fixed with 1.7.1.
