Hi all,

First, the usual praise for membase and memcached. They are fantastic tools and I use memcached extensively at work.

I'm investigating membase as a persistent backing store for the applications that currently use memcached and have just set up membase 1.7.1.1 on my computer.

Setup was very easy, I just had to re-register to 127.0.0.1, and the browser showed that it had chosen localhost:8091 as a port.

However, when I tried to telnet to 8091 I got no response, it would just drop the connection at the first keypress.
Telnetting to 11211 gave me the details of the memcached service (1.4.4).

So I stopped the memcached service, and now telnet localhost 11211 gives me the Membase server.

It's not an issue now, but is there a reason why the http port and the telnet port are different?

Okay, I just found the bucket access port configuration page, and the documentation related to bucket management tasks. I guess I should have looked before posting :)

Thanks,

L
