Membase on AWS - EBS in different AZ?
If I distribute membase servers in say us-west-1a, us-west-1b and us-west-1c to protect agains the sort of EBS meltdown that happened a couple of months ago is the increased latency going to cause me problems? (I know putting one in us-east and one in us-west is not a good plan).
Is there a suggested best-practice configuration for Couchbase over Amazon (with a goal of 100% uptime and HA) by any chance? It seems like there's lots of "reasonable" pieces here and there, but I was hoping for a comprehensive config...
To be perfectly honest, we're learning as we go along as well. Everyone has a slightly different environment, sizing, and requirements so I'm shying away a bit from providing any hard-and-fast rules that may not be applicable to everyone.
We're certainly open to discussing your specific situation, and would welcome any experiences and help you can provide.

No, you should be fine. We have a number of customers that run across AZ's without issue.
