LAMP or Nginx PHP-FPM with Couchbase server?
Im in the process of looking at which direction to go for building our application server and connecting to couchbase, at first I want to test the php sdk since their is no official node.js sdk (?).
Anyhow I need high throughput and connects to the app and db but from being a long time Apache user I know that it can only handle so many connections before it starts to fail, which of course then you scale the app to another box with a load balance, I hear many good things about nginx being much more lightweight, handling a lot more connections etc..
Can anyone recommend such a setup and if so what is the bare minimum that I need to get up and running. The idea is to create a json server that can handle requests form a ios client and read and write them to the db.
Also can php really handle a huge load, I know its been proven but its more of a scripting language than python, ruby or java and I want to make sure im going down the right path.
