Everything seems to work when I install the dpkg on the current version of debian stable.

However, on startup the init.d script reports back "Failed". The server appears to be up and operational.

When taking down the server using "init.d/couchbase-server stop", it appears to leave a daemon running.

I know that debian isn't one of your "supported" operating systems at the moment, but since it was so close to ubuntu, I was hoping it would work.

If the remaining daemon is epmd, that can be ignored.

On it reporting "failed", it's hard to say that is without more info. Do the results end up logged anywhere? Does the Web Console show anything wrong?

And yes while the .deb isn't tested (and thus isn't supported) on Debian, it probably will work.

Makes sense. I'll attempt to dig in further about why it failed as I get closer to going live. Either that or I'll switch to using Ubuntu Server.
