I ran into a problem with the installer hanging when it got to where it said, "computing space requirements". It would just sit there, doing nothing. After more than one hour trying to figure it out, I started closing apps, to see if there were interactions. (Visual Studio, etc.) When I closed Google Chrome, the install then came to life and finished.

So, do not have Google Chrome open when installing, for better success.

I couldn't get it to install either. After restarting and running the installer with nothing open, it tries to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable at "computing space requirements". People having issues where they may not be able to restart (servers, etc) might just want to go download that MS package and install it before hand.

I can confirm this problem still exists with developer preview 4.

And the solution above (exit Chrome) worked for me too.

I can confirm this also happens with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and with both Dev3 and Dev4.

The only "work around" I've ever stumbled upon was the following:
1 - Create a new user with administrator access.
2 - Switch to that user.
3 - Install Couchbase under that new user.
(Oddly enough, this worked perfectly for me when it got
to calculating space requirements it flew directly into
the VC2005 Redist install.)
4 - Log out of your new user and go back in as your normal preferred user account.
5 - Use Couchbase. :)

(No amount of Chrome running or not seemed to help me.)

I also experienced this when trying to install 2.0 enterprise on my Win 7 Ultimate Edition machine. I run the program "Bins"

and upon killing it, the installation got past the sticking point.
