On our Windows 2003 server I ran the install for 1.7 and it put me at a login screen instead of the setup screen. I uninstalled 1.7 and installed the latest 1.6 and the install worked fine. Any ideas what may be happening here?

That's pretty weird...I've actually heard of things working BETTER with 1.7 than 1.6 ;-)

I assume you can't actually log in if you haven't set it up right?

Can you please run "C:\Program Files\Membase\Server\bin\mbcollect_info " and send the resulting file to perry@couchbase.com?

Thanks!

I had to uninstall 1.7 and install 1.6 to get it up and running in this environment. Can this be run from 1.6, or can I download the program directly?

I really need the logs from a 1.7 installation, is this possible to reproduce in a lab environment?

I have he same problem on two different 32bit windows servers. FWIW, all 64bit installs on 64bit windows have worked great.
