Hi,

There is a HA related situation I have met in our Membase Server deployment.

I have two nodes. The default bucket will replicate 1 of replica (backup):

Node1: Membase Server v1.6.5.0
Node2: Membase Server v1.6.5.0

If there is any node failure, all the memcached will cease to function until the failing node recover.

Is there any way to configure Membase Server to having High availability ability? Which means if there is any node failure will not causing our system that relied on Membase Server to crashed or stopped?

Thanks.

Will, take a look at this post: http://techzone.couchbase.com/wiki/display/membase/Failover+with+Membase

The basic idea is that failover is a manual process (for good reason) but can be scripted in your environment.

You should only lose access to the data on the node that failed, not all the data. Please let me know if this is not what you are seeing.

Perry,

Yes, you're right. It's "lose access" but "lost data".

I think automatic failover options along with rules is a good design. Hope to see this feature build-in soon. :)

Thanks.

Will
