Erratic Couchbase performance being monitored in New Relic
We're using Couchbase 2.0.1 running on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS in a two-node cluster. This is being leveraged by the .Net client running inside an ASP.Net MVC web application. It seems like we're getting good performance out of Couchbase, but in our New Relic monitoring console we show very erratic response time from the couchbase instance (averaging 2,200ms in the last three hours). We have two main issues:
1. As we use the app, we don't think we're seeing response times that high (subjectively, not looking at New Relic)
2. The average is 2,200ms, but the line graph shoots up and down every five to seven minutes.
One thought I had is whether New Relic is capturing the client's communication with the couchbase cluster to determine metrics. Does anybody have an idea as to what might be going on?
