Developer Preview 3 cluster issues
I set up a cluster with two identical mint installations of Windows 7 Ultimate x64
- latest updates
- min requirement compliant hardware:
- Intel Quad Q6600, 8GB RAM DDR2
- Intel i7 2600, 16 GB RAM DDR3
I created 9k docs and coded a bit. At some point the second node went offline because of its faulty NIC and the sh... hit the fan at warp 2 :(
I did reboot the second machine up again without having replaced the NIC and everything seemed normal (healthy) at first until I queried a view. Querying the view timed out after an eternity. Because of the faulty NIC I decided to remove the faulty node from the cluster in order to get back to coding. Removal and rebalance succeeded without a hitch.
Sadly removing it did not fix my issue and views are still timing out. The log was not helpful at all ("All good!").
Restarting the Couchbase service nor rebooting the one machine left fixed the issue either. However, reinstalling and removing the files left behind by the uninstaller did fix the issue.
I am not counting on running the cluster on Windows anyway, however, I noticed that querying a view in a cluster configuration is 60 times slower (240ms) than on a single machine (4ms), which somewhat defeats the purpose of running a cluster.
Help fixing this issue is very much appreciated
