Hi,

I have installed Couchbase Developer Preview 2.0, and have the latest version. I am running on 64 Ubuntu server with latest upgrade.

I am having extremely slow response times when running my views. I checked the processes running using the 'top' command and found -

1) Multiple couchbase processes are running from couch.js

2) The couchbase process occupying most CPU is beam.smp which takes anywhere between 30-100%.

Is the above something to worry about, or is it normal?

Thanks,
Murtaza

I have install Couchbase Developer Preview 2.0 on a macbook pro (i5, 8GB), and have also seen beam.smp use 130% cpu.
My install isn't doing anything, just a fresh install set at 256mb and nothing done with it yet.
It could be because the machine has been in hibernate mode, although it was 10 mins after resuming that i noticed the problem and at that point the machine had become fairly unresponsive.

There are a number of known CPU utilization issues, including the one related to suspend and resume. In recent weeks, a number of these have been investigated and fixed, and the other known ones are scheduled to be fixed by the beta release.

You may want to track http://www.couchbase.org/issues/browse/MB-3321 by watching the issue for further information.
