We are doing the Load Test of WCF Service , which makes use of the cache.

The service tries to find the information in the cache first and if it is not found , then it will fetch from database.

We have 64 bit Windows 2008 server with 12 GB RAM and 16 cpu cores.

We have alloted 6 GB RAM for cache.

We have installed 64 bit version of the Memcached server, but we see the ERL as a 32 bit process.

As the ERL process is a 32 bit it is not able to utilize the whole memory and resulting in Page Faults(17 million in 20 miniutes)

should there be a 64 bit ERL process?

We spoke to our System Admins here and as per them these are soft faults and should not effet the cache server performance.

We would like to confirm the same with you.

Thanks,
Ravi

Ravi, I've spoken with the engineers and they assure me that a 32-bit ERL process should not cause any problems with the cache. erl.exe is our Erlang process which handles clustering and configuration, but has nothing to do with the actual memory space of the cache.
