Hi, I have recently started using the NSMS and find it very useful. I have just tried to install it onto our qa servers, Win 2k8, and have run into a problem. I have 2 seperate network connections, one for public use, one a private connection for the hosting provider to manage backups and whatnot.

When installing the server I am not able to choose which connection to choose and it seems to always choose the hosting companies private connection. I was able to get around this by uninstalling the software and then disabling the hosted connection and then installing the server. Worked great. As soon as I enable the connection and reset the NSMS the server once again attempts to use the hosted connection and will not start the NSMS.

Is there any way to configure the server to use a specific connection? Thanks,
Jim

In the other thread, "Win2008 NLB Cluster", you can see a workaround which allows you to specify a particular IP address. Can you try that and let us know if that works in your environment. It has been a successful workaround for some users.

Thanks, that did the trick. I tried that earlier before uninstalling and didnt have any luck but it did this time. Thanks for the quick response and the help!
