Are you in touch with Amazon about which version of your memcached server they offer on EC2 images? If so, will they be upgrading their servers? Notfications about when they update and what version they will be using would be very helpful.

Hi Brian,

Which AMIs are you using specifically? Who is the author/provider?

Rod,

We've been using some community AMIs that I thought were provided by Northscale. As an example, see AMI-EE03E187. I think that one is called something like "northscale.community.1.4.4-14[....]". Thanks.

Hi Brian,

Actually, we are planning an AMI release of the NorthScale Memcached Server in a few weeks. Please private message me your contact info and I will be sure you are notified immediately.

Rod, I have not seen any updates to Amazon. The AMIs are still the Moxi 1.4.4 AMIs. Is there any update as to when the latest Northscale AMIs will be published to Amazon? Thanks.

Hi Brian, our current recommendation is to use the latest and greatest packages (RPM's, etc) that are available and load them into the appropriate OS in an Amazon instance. This will get you the latest code updates, as well as our built-in security/UI/monitoring.

We still want to optimize for AMI's in the future (and will be doing so).

Let me know if I can be of any more help, sorry for the confusion.

Perry
