Sorting asc vs. desc performance in views and N1QL

Hello,

We know that the views sort data in ascending order. Since N1QL uses views behind the scenes, we assume that ORDER BY in asc is performant. How does N1QL handle ORDER BY desc? Is there a difference in performance?

For example in SQL relational database when an index is...

How would a N1QL join statement behave in a sharded environment?

How would it be executed so that it's performant?

For N1QL should we create an index for each search and filter predicate for n1ql to be performant?

How does this work with a sharded couchbase? which will be slow performing queries which ones will be fast

Should I be using multiple buckets?

I watched the Nickel webinar today. All examples, tutorials, and documentation are using multiple buckets, are multiple buckets the preferred way?

I had read other Couchbase documentation that advocated using as few possible buckets & views.

Please clarify.

N1QL with Ruby client

Is there any documentation of using N1QL with the RUby client SDK?

If not - can anyone give a example of how to query the Couchbase server using N1QL via the Ruby client?

Thanks

N1QL Access different indices of Array in JSON

I have a bucket of JSON documents. They are heterogenous documents with different items. Each document is an array with different objects. I need to select all objects of the array that satisfied certain criteria. I realize that you defined "OVER" keyword to iterate the collections. But I am not...
