memcached server won't start after install on RHEL6

After installing Couchbase Server 2.2 via the RHEL6 64-bit RPMs, the memcached server keeps crashing and cycling. The installation via RPM went fine, without any issues. The Setup via the Web Console went fine, without errors.

The logs are cryptic enough that it is very hard to understand what may be causing the problem.
